Fire Damages Apartment Building

Fire caused significant damage to a Chili apartment building Thursday afternoon. Crews responded just after 4:30 p.m. Thursday to the Parklands Apartment Complex.
No one was seriously injured in the fire, but four people were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Seven different fire companies were called in to help fight the fire. The Red Cross says it is assisting five families with food, clothing and shelter.
Fire crews say an object on a pourch may be to blame.
"All we know is that is came in as a fire on the porch," said Ted Kolb of the Chili Fire Department. "Obviously, it starts the siding on fire, the siding goes up into the soffits, the soffits go into the trusses and goodbye house."
Fire crews also tell us that wind was also a factor in spreading the fire.
