Two men injured in Allegany County crash
HUME, N.Y. — Two men are hospitalized following a crash Friday morning in Allegany County.
According to State Police, 21-year-old Alek Potter of Hume lost control of his vehicle on Route 19 around 3 a.m. Friday. The car hit a road sign and then a church.
Potter was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where he's listed in critical condition.
His one passenger, Christopher Jones of Fillmore, was taken to ECMC for surgery on non-life threatening injuries.
Police said alcohol and excessive speed are believed to be causes. Charges are pending.
