Wegmans Customers Donate More Than $1 Million at Checkout to Fight Hunger Locally
A checkout scanning campaign at 45 Wegmans stores raised more than $1 million for hunger relief last fall.
Stores across the Greater Rochester region and surrounding states allowed customers to donate any amount at the checkout, with all proceeds going to each store's local food bank.
The Check Out Hunger and Care About Hunger Campaigns from the Greater Rochester area alone donated over $650,000 to FoodLink.
