The owner of Village Gate expects to create 50 more jobs as renovations near completion at the Goodman Street facility.
Owner Gary Stern said about 150 jobs were created through renovations in 2012. The additional jobs will be added before the project is complete in May.
Renovations included adding new restaurants, replacing carpeting and other interior design changes, and a new art exhibit.
"It's a unique property with mixed use of residential, retail, and restaurants, which there is no place like this in the city, and that it is the heart of the Neighborhood of the Arts, which is a big walking distance district, so that we're able to walk through the areas and go to the art galleries," said Kathy Capierseho, Stern Properties
Stern Properties said about 5,000 feet of commercial space is still available for lease.
