CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Democratic National Convention Committee has released more than 1,000 hotel rooms in Charlotte, initially reserved for delegates and other convention guests.

The organizing committee reserved 15,000 rooms and had to release any unused rooms by Tuesday. The convention committee said they are trying to identify which hotels have vacancies and will work to fill those rooms with other convention guests.

However the rooms are first-come, first-serve, therefore the general public can make reservations at those hotels as well.
