Money Matters: Holiday bargains last far beyond Cyber Monday

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are over but there are still other savings to be had this holiday season. YNN's Shazia Khan filed the following report.

Two major shopping days of the year, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, have passed, but Jeanette Pavini, a savings expert with Coupons.com, says there are still plenty of deals to be had this holiday season. She says shoppers should be strategic with holiday spending.

"Do not feel like you've lost out, because really the reality is you are going to have sales all the way until after New Year's Day," says Pavini.

One way is to save receipts for possible refunds, exchanges or price adjustments.

"There's a chance it might even go down in price as the holidays approach even closer. So what you might want to do is hold onto that receipt, find out how long they'll give that price adjustment, usually it's 14 days," Pavini says. "Bring the receipt in and if it goes down in price, they'll give you the money back, the difference."

One busy bargain day is "Green Monday," coming up December 10.

"It's where a lot of retailers realized they are coming very close to the end of the holiday season. They still have a lot of inventories so they do a lot of sales on Green Monday," says Pavini.

Monday, December 17 is known as "Free Shipping Day."

"Not all retailers are going to do a free shipping day, but a lot of them recognize this day and they will offer free shipping in addition to maybe any sales that they are having," Pavini says.

Then, come December 26, those who are still itching for deals can take advantage of so-called Coupon Code Day to make the post-holiday bargain even sweeter.
