Levitre getting some work at OT
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — After watching Ryan Fitzpatrick play much of Saturday's game under heavy pressure, Chan Gailey is exploring a change on the blind side.
Andy Levitre is now splitting snaps with Demitrius Bell, who Gailey called inconsistent. Levitre is attempting a tough transition from his usual post at guard.
“I have spent a lot of time working on my craft at guard, but being able to kick out at tackle may help us as a team I think if we get caught in a squeeze,” said Levitre, a 3rd year player who has almost exclusively lined up next to the center.
“It depends on both Levitre and Demetrius (Bell). How long we go with it or whether it becomes permanent or whether it becomes just something we tried for a little while,” said head coach Chan Gailey.
Andy Levitre had been firmly entrenched as the starter at left guard until he began splitting snaps there with Chad Reinhardt, who's a former third round pick and would would likely slide into that spot if the Bills were to make the switch.
“My job is to throw the ball to our guys and to get those guys on the right people and that’s my only concern. I have all of the confidence in the world in those guys up front and we will get some of the stuff we need to fix ironed out,” said Fitzpatrick.
