ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bills have been a work in progress throughout the preseason, and the hope is that the first team offense is nearing completion.

The unit has a lot to build upon after Saturday's breakout performance, where it put together three scoring drives, looking smooth throughout.

While it is just one preseason game, it was an important moment, after two games of struggles, and the team appears to be showing much needed confidence as a result.

“They have some underlying confidence in what they can do and where they can be,” said head coach Chan Gailey. “Even though we hadn’t done as well as we liked, I think they believe in themselves and I think they came out here not with anything special or different, but with that confidence renewed a little bit.”

The Bills are down to the league-mandated 80 player roster limit. Linebacker Brad Jefferson was released on Tuesday.

The Bills will carry the expanded roster into Thursday's preseason finale, before cutting it down to 53 for the start of the regular season.
