ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Things are rough at One Bills Drive right now. While the team hopes to put together a decent finish, evaluating personnel for next year seems to be a big focus now.
Marcell Dareus was probably the biggest positive come out of their eighth loss of the season. The team's top pick out of Alabama charged in and dropped Chargers QB Philip Rivers for a first quarter sack that almost derailed the San Diego drive.
Rivers was able to recover and lead the Chargers to completion of their first TD drive of the game. Dareus finished with five tackles in the matchup. He now has 35 tackles and 4 1/2 sacks on the year - pretty good for a rookie.
"Marcell was one of the bright spots, he did some good things yesterday, he really did. I thought that was a plus coming out of the ballgame," said head coach Chan Gailey.
