High School Girls Lacrosse Finals

Just one loss coming into the Class C girls lacrosse final for number one seeded Waterloo but they were in for a run against Honeoye Falls-Lima.

Down a couple in the first half, the Indians made a run. Lauren Deming hit Moriah Excell for the goal.

But the Cougars are loaded this season, Cari Stankaitis on the free position goal.

Then Maddy Silverman scored twice in the final 15 seconds of the half for a 10-4 HF-L lead.

The Cougars earn the Class C title.

Irondequoit Vs. Canandaigua

Third seeded Irondequoit played for the Class B title for the second straight year, playing number one Canandaigua for the third time this season.

The other two were one goal games and the Eagles made this a one-goal game as freshman Jourdan Roemer scored off the feed from Jamie Smock.

The Braves kept Irondequoit at arm's length. The sisters, Kendall D'Amore to Lauren Damoray for her third goal of the game.

The Eagles tried to keep it close. Lauren Gerrie went low.

But Canandaigua pulled away. Dakota Savitcheff had another big night.

The top seeded Braves win the Class B crown.

Irondequoit: 7
Canandaigua: 14


Penfield Vs. Pittsford

Upset minded Penfield took on number one seed and defending Class A lacrosse champion Pittsford for the Class A crown.

The Panthers down midway through the second half before Tori Wehner hit Holly Turner for her third goal of the game.

Then Abi Cullinan cutting in front got the Patriots lead down to one with ten minutes to play.

But Penfield did a great job with possession. Jill Vacanti from behind the net.

The Patriots ran off the last three minutes playing keep away.

Add lacrosse to the Section V volleyball and basketball team titles won by Penfield's girls this season.
