Honeoye Falls-Lima senior Cari Stankaitis earned the State Scholar Athlete of the Year. She'll head to Cornell next year.
In her new backyard, Ithaca College for the State Swimming finals. Stankaitis in the 50 freestyle, in the top lane of the three coming to the wall. Clarence junior Dina Rommel defended her title in the middle. Pittsford freshman Katie Smith took second and Stankaitis third.
Stankaitis, Smith and Sarah Baxter of Canandaigua finished two-three-four in the 100 free.
