For Sabres players, Sunday morning meant back to work. After players spent the last three months doing varying levels of training programs, they jumped in with both feet on the first day of training camp.

Lindy Ruff welcomed Sabres players back to the NHL with a high-paced two hour workout that even included a mid-point break re-surface the ice.

A couple injury notes: Nathan Gerbe and Cody McCormick are in limited participation as they recover from injuries. Meanwhile, Tyler Myers and Tyler Ennis are back to full-go after minor injuries in Europe.

With for a furious 48 game season, part of camp has to be developing team chemistry to power through.

“I think with having condensed numbers, it helps. And having guys return from last year, most of us know the system and how we need to play. I think that is kind of an advantage over a lot of teams having new roster spots. I think we work well together as a team and we're all ready to go,” Sabres Center Cody Hodgson said.

“Everybody has got a different situation, whether they were playing in a different league, or if they were just working out on their own. Everybody's going to have to take it up to a different type of game here in the NHL. We all knew it was going to be a bit of a spring once we got everything organized. Do the best you can to get organized and away we go,” Goaltender Ryan Miller said.
