If you're around the Cayuga Wine Trail anytime soon, be sure to jump onto Route 96 near Ithaca. This is where you'll find Trumansburg. Spending an hour or 2 works just fine to take in a few highlights of this Tompkins County village.
For a good slice of pizza, you'll think you've found a New York City favorite at 'New York Pizzeria', 2 W. Main Street. These guys are from Sicily and take great pride and passion in their delicious dough, toppings and sauce. Thin style pizza! Yum! The best I've had in a long time! (607) 387-3700.
Taughannock Falls State Park is just down the road from Rt. 96, so a picnic lunch makes a lot of sense. Grab a great sandwich and a side of potato salad from 'Good To Go', 21 E. Main Street. (607) 387-8646
Mmmmm Chocolate! Homemade chocolate can be found at the village favorite "Life's So Sweet Chocolates', 27 W. Main St., open 7 days a week! (607) 387-4477 Try the peanut butter cups!
People come from all around for fine dining at 'Hazelnut', 53 E. Main St. Open for dinner 5pm-9:30pm Thursday-Monday. (607) 387-4433
Also...
'Rongovian Embassy to the USA', 1 W. Main St. for great local and national bands. Food is good too!
Little Venice Ristorante, 49 E. Main St. Good pizza!
Getn' There: Try scenic Rt. 89, along the west side of Cayuga Lake, the Cayuga Wine Trail. Turn onto any road that takes you to Interlakin then south onto Rt. 96 into Trumansburg.
