Volunteers Clean Up Mt. Hope Cemetery
The rain did not stop volunteers from working together to spruce up the nation's oldest municipal Victorian cemetery Saturday morning.
Groups gathered at Mount Hope Cemetery with their rakes and gardening tools for some spring cleaning, or 'Mount Hope Sweep.'
The event provided volunteers an opportunity to work together in a spirit of camaraderie while gaining an appreciation for the 196 acre cemetery.
Many notable figures, including Susan B. Anthony, Frederick Douglass, and Nathaniel Rochester, are buried there.
