To celebrate the festive 4th of July holiday, runners took to the Rochester streets for the Fleet Feet Firecracker Five Mile race.
Nearly 900 participants registered for the run which began at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
The top three male and female finishers in various age groups received cash prizes.
Following the race, the runners were treated to a celebratory parade to honor America's birthday.
Ellen Brenner-Boutillier, Member of Fleet Feet Sports and Yellow Jacket Racing said, "This is one of the oldest races in Rochester, it's around 30 or close to 30 years old, so it started in the 70s, and each year it's just been growing and growing."
In addition to the parade, the Party in the Park will take place in Perinton for spectators and racers to partake in.
