Standoff on Central Park Ends Peacefully
Police said a four-hour standoff began Wednesday morning after a man fired a gun and then refused to leave his home.
Police responded to Fifth Street and Central Park on Tuesday afternoon for reports of shots fired. However, police weren't able to confirm it at the time.
Police later returned to speak with someone who says he witnessed a man fire a gun. The man who allegedly fired shots then locked himself inside his home.
Police worked overnight to get the man to come out of his home. He finally did so voluntarily, without a gun.
Surrounding apartment buildings were evacuated. Those residents have since returned home.
