The attorney for a man long suspected in the death of a Greece teacher in the 1990s says an indictment will be unsealed and his client arraigned in prison on Monday.
Attorney Bob Napier says his client Edward Laraby gave a statement in connection with the murder of Stephanie Kupchynsky.
The music teacher vanished in the summer of 1991. Her remains were found in Orleans County seven years later. The 59-year old Laraby was a maintenance worker at the Newcastle Apartment complex where Kupchynsky lived.
He's currently serving 25 years to life in prison for sexual abuse and is currently undergoing treatment for Lou Gehrig's Disease at a correctional facility in Alden in Erie County.
Meanwhile, officials from the Monroe County District Attorney's Office and the Greece Police Department have scheduled a press conference for Monday afternoon to discuss a break in what they call an important case.
