The 43rd annual Puerto Rican Festival kicks off this weekend at Frontier Field.
The festival brings families together to enjoy music, food, a parade and other activities.
This year's theme is remembering the past and building the future.
"The music is what draws the people here. It's also like a family reunion for everybody. It's been such a long standing festival that everybody that comes here knows people or they haven't seen each other from the previous festival," said Orlando Ortiz, festival president. "A lot of people travel make special travel arrangements to come here and visit family during this weekend, so it's really like a big family reunion for people that attend."
The festival runs July 20 through the 22.
Because of previous incidents, the Rochester Police Department would like to remind you to celebrate responsibly if you plan to attend.
