Highland Park had to cancel this week's movie presentation because of a break in at the Highland Park Bowl.
Park Director Larry Staub tells us that park employees discovered the break-in when setting up for Thursday night's movie "Kung Fu Panda 2". Projection equipment and other items were stolen.
The bowl was also vandalized with graffiti and toothpaste.
"We're not going to let this deter us, we'll have movies in the park next year in 20-13," said Park Director Larry Staub. "We'll take the time in between to get some new equipment but we're not going to let families down. This is an important event to so many families in our community."
Staub estimates around $5,000 worth of equipment was stolen. This was supposed to be the final movie of the season.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
