It happened on Jefferson Avenue, between West Main and Brown streets.

Police were called to the location just before 4 o'clock for the report of a man stabbed.

When they arrived they found a 32-year-old man with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to Strong Hospital with what police describe as life threatening injuries.

The victim's name has not been released but police say he is a city resident.
