Police in Gates are investigating a case of vandalism at the GPD 90 Services contracting company on Buffalo Road. The site is the former Gulf Refinery that was built back in the fifties.

The current owner, Gina Dandrea, bought the property about a year ago and runs a property services and heavy equipment rental business.

When she and her brother arrived at the location Thursday morning, they discovered major damage to the property fence. Several vehicles were also damaged, including a crane, excavators, and two front end loaders.

They'll meet with their insurance company, but say the damage could run well into the tens of thousands of dollars.

The damage was done by someone operating one of the front-loaders, and the owners say it was someone who knew what they were doing.

"Now, these aren't easy to operate. We don't think a kid could just come in here and operate these machines the way they did. so it had to be somebody who knew what they were doing," said Paul Parker, owner's brother.

The family says it is offering a $5,000 reward for information that results in an arrest.
