Conviction in 2006 Murder of Rochester woman
A Monroe County jury has found a man guilty for the 2006 slaying of 23-year-old Tyffany Porter.

Donyell J. Mckenzie, 41, has been serving a 25-year sentence since pleading guilty to murdering his girlfriend on Rosewood Terrace. Prosecutors say McKenzie stabbed Porter 47 times.

Friday’s verdict marks the second time McKenzie has been found guilty of taking Porter’s life. His original 2007 conviction was overturned when he was found to have an extreme emotional disturbance.

McKenzie is scheduled to be sentenced on December 5, where he faces up to 25 years to life in state prison.
