The Rochester community laced up for a good cause on Sunday at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
The Step It Up to Cure Pancreatic Cancer 5K Walk was held for people of all ages.
Those who attended not only took part in the walk, but also enjoyed various activities and games set up in the field house.
The walk raised money as well as awareness to directly benefit local pancreatic cancer research at the Wilmot Cancer Center.
"Seeing this sort of ground swell of activity and of support means a lot," said Oncologist Aram Hezel. "It's important for us at the Wilmot Cancer Center. It gives us all energy and keeps us engaged, and so I just wanted to say that we're so grateful for this, for the Rochester community and what they've done to move our efforts forward."
Funds from the event will go towards patient treatment and prevention.
