Jury Selection Underway in Maxwell Wyant Murder Trial
Jury selection is underway in the trial of a Brighton man accused of fatally shooting his former roommate back in February.

Maxwell Wyant is charged with second degree murder. He's accused of killing 21 year old Christopher "C-J" Schoen. Police say the two men had previously lived together.

The defense claims that Maxwell Wyant acted in self defense. Wyant's attorney said that there was a longstanding dispute between Schoen and Wyant, and that Wyant was bullied by Schoen.

The defense says Schoen entered Wyant's home unexpectedly and that his client was protecting his property after the two began arguing.

Police say Schoen died from a shotgun wound. His body was found outside the home in Brighton.

Jury selection is expected to continue through Monday.
