Grand Jury Indicts Teen Driver in Brighton Bus Crash
A grand jury has indicted a teen driver on one felony charge following an October crash involving a school bus in Brighton.
The case against 16-year-old John Zakhary will now move from Brighton Town Court to Monroe County Court.
Zakhary was charged with reckless driving, unreasonable speed, failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to keep right and violating his restricted junior driver's license.
Police say he was driving three friends home from school when he rear-ended a bus on Warren Avenue, pinning the car under the bus. All of the students were injured. One is undergoing acute intensive therapy at a specialized facility.
