Deputies say the car was spotted in the water between Sweden Walker and Canal roads just before 9 a.m. Thursday.

They say it appears it has been there for awhile.

Deputies are not sure how the car got into the canal, but say that it was reported stolen.

The scuba team is working to pull it out of the water.

No word yet on whether or not the car was empty.
