Geva Theatre Hosts Open House
Rochester's Geva Theatre is hosting a free open house Monday night. Visitors are invited to take a self-guided tour through the theatre.

You'll be able to see the set of Geva's latest production, A Christmas Carol, including all the behind the scenes props and details of the show.

Upstairs is the costume shop, where artisans design and make costumes for each production.
It takes more than 100 people to put together each show.

More than 170,000 people attend Geva Theatre productions annually.

"We think it is important that people understand that we are theatre that creates things and productions. We build the sets, we design the costumes here. It is not a production that comes in and then goes on to somewhere else, so for Rochestarians to understand that we are creating Rochester for Rochester and in Rochester," said Dawn Kellogg of Geva Theatre.

The open house is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Admission is free. Reservations are not required.
