Man Faces Charges in Summer Hit and Run Crash That Injured Rushville Man
An Ontario County man faces charges in connection with a hit and run incident from over the summer.

John Stenzel was arraigned this week on charges of leaving the scene of a physical injury accident and tampering with evidence.

Prosecutors say Stenzel struck Kevin Royston of Rushville with his 1967 Corvette in early June on Townline Road. Royston lost his leg in the incident.

District Attorney Mike Tantillo said Stenzel claimed he thought he hit a deer. He's accused of stuffing deer hair in the damaged car's headlight to try and fool authorities.

Stenzel pleaded not guilty. He posted bail and is due back in court on January 9.
