No Injuries in Early Morning Fire
A house in Rochester was heavily damaged by fire early Saturday morning. It happened on Lake Avenue around 12:30 a.m.

Firefighters say it appears the fire started on the first floor, but spread to the second floor and into the attic. The two people that live in the home were able to get out safely.

Firefighters say the people that live in the home are in the process of converting it from a two apartment home back into a single home. When fire crews arrived on scene they called a second alarm due to the size of the house.

Salvatore Mitrano, Rochester Fire Chief, said, "You look at a house like this, that size, the officer doesn't know if it's cut up or not, and it's better to bring extra help quick and it was a good call by the lieutenant."

No word yet on the cause of the fire.

No injuries were reported.
