Brighton Teen Indicted on Felony Charges for October Car Crash
A Monroe County grand jury has indicted a Brighton teenager on multiple felony charges following an October car crash.

Police say John Zakhary, 16, was behind the wheel of a 1995 BMW when he lost control of the car on Warren Avenue in Brighton. The car slammed into the back end of a slow-moving school bus seriously injuring three passengers in the car. One of those passengers, Scott Collins, 16, remains hospitalized. No one on the bus was injured.

Zakhary was indicted on two counts of second degree assault, reckless endangerment, reckless driving charges and multiple traffic violations.

Zakhary will be arraigned at a later date. If convicted, he faces a maximum of seven years in prison.
