Firefighters Close Investigation Into Deadly Irondequoit Fire
The Irondequoit Police Department has closed the case of a fatal fire at a vacant home on Falstaff Street back in July.
Officers say there were no signs of accelerants or foul play, so they are closing the case pending any additional leads or developments.
Firefighters were called to the home on July 15th. When they put the fire out, they found the body of 31-year-old Rebecca Rodiguez Lopez. Police say the mother of four died of smoke inhalation.
The fire had originally been ruled suspicious while investigators worked to determine a cause.
