Ontario County Sheriff's deputies say the driver of a pick-up truck heading northbound on State Route 21 in the town of Canandaigua lost control, spun sideways, hit a mailbox, a utility pole and ended up in a ditch.

The driver, Keith Rose, 26, of Canandaigua, pulled his passenger, Alura Hafter, 23, of Liverpool, out of the vehicle.

Hafter was unconscious at the scene and was airlifted by Mercy Flight to Strong Hospital.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
