Grand Jury Decides Against Charging Security Guard In June Shooting
A Monroe County Grand Jury has voted not to indict a Rochester security guard in connection with a shooting in June.
Felix Cruz Romero, 40, was charged with first degree assault following the June 29th shooting on Chestnut Street.
Police said 32-year-old Paul Ravenell was acting aggressively and waving a knife. Witnesses said Cruz Romero told him to leave, and the two began to fight.
Police were called, but when they arrived, Ravenell had left.
A little while later, Police said Ravenell returned with a hammer and threatened Cruz Romero. That's when Cruz Romero pulled out his registered handgun and shot Ravenell several times. Ravenell suffered wounds to his intestines, liver and stomach.
