Second Grader Gets First Place in National Award
A second grader from Rochester is being honored with a national award.
Seven-year-old Connor Grossman was named the First Place winner of the 2012 Gee Whiz Kids Award.
The award is given to students age 12 and under who show the value of service in America.
Last year, Connor raised money for multiple sclerosis research, a disease that his mother suffers from. By dipping marbles in paint and shaking them against paper, Connor made unique paintings.
He began selling those paintings and has since raised more than $50,000 for the National M.S. Society.
