Area bakeries are busy frying, frosting and stuffing last minute holiday orders. People are stopping by bake shops to get some sweet stuff in time for the holidays.

Gruttadauria's Bakery in Greece has been celebrating the sweet tastes of Italy in the Rochester area for nearly 100 years. Specialities includes cannoli's, cookies and rum cakes.
Steve Gruttadauria says the last two months are the busiest of the year.

"Just prepping everything and working through it, everybody works together and that is the best thing about it," said Gruttadauria.

For some customers, it wouldn't be Christmas without these confections.

"I have been coming to Gruttadauria's since we came to the United States, to Rochester in 1959 so it is just a tradition and we enjoy their cookies--they are the best in town here.," said Geremia Siciliano from Greece.

"I am going back to family in Buffalo and each gets a box of cookies, what's Christmas without Gruttadauria's," said Larry Grasso from Rochester.

The bakery is closed Christmas Day and will reopen Wednesday.
