A new Court Help Center opened Thursday at the Judicial Law Library inside Monroe County's Hall of Justice.

The Help Center is an easily-accessible resource for people who wish to represent themselves in legal matters.

Staff at the Help Center will be able to offer information on various legal processes, including divorces, evictions and custody battles, as well as more serious criminal matters.

"Those folks have just as much right to have access to the system, as folks that have attorneys. So our effort here is not to replace attorneys, and in fact we're not offering legal advice here; rather, we're helping folks navigate through the process a little bit," said Hon. Craig Doran, 7th District Administrative Justice.

The Help Center is located inside the library on the fifth floor of the Hall of Justice. It will be open during normal courthouse hours.
