When the Sabres hit the ice, fans will be eager to see how this off season’s additions affect the team. Steve Ott is expected to add some energy and a physical punch that the team has been short on for the past few seasons. Plus, he's a former 20 goal scorer.

Meanwhile, John Scott is here to add the literal punch. He's a 6-foot-8, 270 pound enforcer and was protecting Patrick Kane in Chicago. He will now protect the Sabres’ skill players.

“With a guys my size, it kind of comes with the territory. I try to make room for them. On our team, we've got guys like Pominville, Vanek and a slew of other skilled guys and small little forwards. It's up to me to kind of make sure they have room to maneuver out there and they're not getting bullied around, so they can play their game,” Scott said.
