Public Meeting to Discuss Downtown Development

Public Meeting to Discuss Downtown Development
The city of Rochester is looking for opinions on downtown planning and development.

A public meeting will be held Wednesday for city residents to give their input on the city's Center City Master plan. People will be asked questions like what they feel the city's priorities should be for downtown and how the city can improve urban living.

City leaders say it's time to update the master plan, which was created ten years ago.

"Rochester is this region's downtown. It is the place where people will come to a concert or where they will come to pick up their child from college from their first train ride. So people do come downtown and we want people to know it's time of us to look at a new vision for downtown. We had a vision in 2003 and it's now time for us to look at it again," said Marcia Barry, Director of Planning and Zoning.

The meeting is from 5:30-7:00 pm in the City Council chambers. There is also an online survey that the city will have through February 15th.
