Man Crashes into Police Car
A Greece Police officer was injured after an early morning crash and another man is now facing DWI charges.

Greece Police said the officer was responding to a non-emergency call at the mall at Greece Ridge around 12:45 Sunday morning, when a mini-van coming in the opposite direction on Fetzner Road crossed the center line.

The officer turned on his lights to alert the driver and tried to avoid the van, but it was speeding and went further over the center line and crashed into the patrol car.

Police say the officer was able to crawl out of his car and was taken to Strong Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He has since been released.

The driver of the van, Paul Mandell, 31, was not injured. Police charged Mandell with felony DWI and other vehicle and traffic charges.
