Rochester Institute of Technology is offering a paid internship experience for high school students interested in science, technology, engineering and math.

High school juniors will be selected to participate in the program in the College's Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science. High school students will be working with RIT professors, undergraduates and graduate students in research labs concentrating on space weather, ultrasound imaging, remote sensing and astronomical imaging.

"Well it's a really great opportunity to get exposure to actual scientific research in a real scientific setting; something that most students wouldn't get to do, especially at a high level," said Bethany Choate, Senior Associate for Outreach Communications. "It really helps students figure out kind of what they want to do, maybe for a career. What they want to do for college and kind of get some more exposure just to figuring out what science is all about and being able to apply what they learned in the classroom to actual real world settings."

This is the 14th year for the program which runs for seven weeks over the summer.
