Albion residents digging out the village
Towns to the north of Rochester and Buffalo were hit harder by the snow storm than any other region. Orleans County tried to shovel its way out.

ALBION, N.Y. — Albion resident Jim Feigel said he's dreaming of warmer weather after shoveling his front walk four times Friday.
"I thought we'd be clear. I figured they exaggerated again. They were about right though. We got about eight or ten inches of frickin' snow. You know, I'm ready to head to Georgia or somewhere," Feigel said.
Shovelers got a good workout cleaning up the wet, heavy snow.
"It's hard on the ground and you've got to do a lot of digging to get it up," Horace Johnson said. "It's good for skiing. I ski some times so it's good for skiing."
There was another bright spot for the people with the heavy machinery.
"It allows the guys to get some overtime that in the past couple winters they haven't been able to get," Albion Superintendent of Public Works Dale Brooks said.
Ten Public Works staff members plowed all day, only stopping briefly to eat.
"Just keep plowing," Brooks said. "Keep plowing."
The superintendent said they've been able to keep the snow from piling up but the roads remain slick.
"Until the snow stops and we can get some salt on them it's not going to be any better than it is now," he said.
