Muckdog fans got together for some baseball talk and an auction for a good cause.
Season ticket holders in Batavia headed to the Clarion Hotel for a hot stove dinner and the chance to celebrate some major changes for the Genesee County baseball club with other fans. The talk of the night was that the Muckdogs have a new Major League parent club.
"Our biggest change and our biggest news of the off season so far is we have a brand new affiliation with the Miami Marlins for at least the next two years," said Travis Sick, the Muckdogs General Manager. "We were the Cardinals for six years and it was sad to see them go, however talking and meeting with the marlines folks and through hearing from other teams in their minor league system, I think they're going to be a pretty good fit for us. They are pretty supportive of small town baseball and are committed to doing whatever they can to help us out and improving on stuff in Batavia."
Guests had to pay a small price for the meal and were asked to bring in food items for cats and dogs. The dinner and auction benefitted the Genesee County Animal Shelter.
